Christmas has a different feel each year as you grow up and take on more responsibilities. It goes from something that you counted down to for weeks to something that is a nice break from your routine.
Each year I hear more and more people saying that it doesn’t feel like Christmas. Honestly, this makes me kind of sad. Why? This makes me sad because I think people can control how much Christmas spirit they have.
I would imagine there are many ways to find this spirit each December, but I like to find it by thinking back to how I felt as a child when Christmas was nothing short of magical.
There is a magic to the feeling kids have as anticipation builds until Christmas morning. Is there any more pure elation than what is felt by children who jump out of bed Christmas morning to find the gifts that weren’t there when they fell asleep? I certainly don’t think so.
To keep this short: Do your best to keep the magic in Christmas. It may take some imagination or some reminiscing, but find a way to bring back the anticipation, joy and excitement that is felt this special time of year.
Merry Christmas!
Bonus points to everyone who knows which Christmas movie the picture above this post is from.
